Day 1: Arusha to Lake Natron (Ol Doinyo Lengai).

Take a picturesque drive to Lake Natron, where you'll be fascinated by its natural beauty and the elegant presence of flamingos in their habitat. After a delicious dinner, relax and prepare for the adventurous ascent of Ol Doinyo Lengai, which begins at 23:00 to escape the burning afternoon heat. The trek will take about 5-6 hours to reach the summit!

Day 2: Ol Doinyo Lengai – Arusha.

As the first light of sunrise, lights the area, you will find yourself proudly standing on the peak of Ol Doinyo Lengai, a wonderful mountain. Energize yourself with the nutritious meals carefully packed for the journey, preparing you for the stunning sights that await you.

Wonder at the gorgeous views that stretch before you, from the shining salt plains of Lake Natron to the distant appearance of the Kenyan border, Mount Kilimanjaro's imposing presence, and the dramatic landscapes of the Ngorongoro Highlands and Crater. Take a chance to explore the peak, enjoying the peacefulness before starting the journey down.

After your descent, enjoy a relaxing stop at the adjacent waterfalls and immerse yourself in their cool waters. After that, have a delicious hot lunch at the campsite to refill your energy for the return trip to Arusha. Porters' loads are restricted to 15 kg (35 pounds), with excess luggage requiring an extra porter at $5/day. Valuables should be stored in sealed waterproof bags, and clothing wrapped in plastic for added protection. The day pack essentials include water, sunglasses, camera, binoculars, rain pants, and jacket. Additional items for daily use should be carried, as porters may not be accessible until day's end.
~ Baggage requirements include a day pack for personal use and a large duffel bag or backpack for porters. Clothing recommendations prioritize functionality, emphasizing wicking inner layers, insulating mid-layers, and waterproof outer layers. Cold weather accessories like gloves, hats, and hand warmers are essential for comfort. Proper footwear, including trekking shoes and gaiters, ensures safety and support during hikes. ~ All travelers entering from or passing through nations where yellow fever is endemic must have a yellow fever vaccination.
~ Bring a camera for photos and binoculars, if you don't have a binocular, you can get it from us.
~ Visas are required for entry into Tanzania; foreigners can apply for a visa online prior to travel.
~ Bring a passport that is valid for at least six months after the date of entry and/or visa insurance. 

~ After completing your trek, an envelope will be provided to you at the Springlands Hotel containing your tip money. Accepted currencies include U.S. dollars, Euros, or Tanzanian shillings, or a combination thereof. It's recommended to have small bills for individual tipping. Carrying money on the mountain is unnecessary.
Tipping Guidelines:
~ Guides: $15 per day.
~ Assistant guides and cooks: $10 per day.
~ Porters: $7 per day.
~ These amounts are for the entire group, not per hiker.

~ Guides: One per eight hikers.

~ Marangu Route (5 days): 2 porters per hiker (minimum of 4 porters).
